#40 Boston Massachusetts

September 2, 2022

On my way to New York, for a girls trip with Kessa, I flew into Hartford on Thursday and drove up to Boston to spend Friday morning at the Boston temple.  The Boston temple felt like it was in this forest oasis.  It tucked off the road, with trees surrounding it.  One of the things that was interesting in the ceiling room, is that it had 12 smaller chandeliers around the perimeter of the celestial room, rather than one massive one in the center.  The sealing room ceilings weren't very high.  The chandelier definitely felt like a prominent point in the sealing room, because it was pretty big and about 6' from the ground, so a tall man might bump heads with it.  The woodworks was beautiful.  It was a lighter wood, maybe maple. I was kind of surprised that there is almost no artwork in the main areas.  There's a few paintings in the halls right by the dressing room, and I saw one by the sealing office.  It had a beautiful double curved stairway.  I remember seeing the curved wooden handrail and was just amazed at the craftsmanship.  Another thing that was different was in the telestial room, there was no murals.  It was decorated very light.  I don't think I've seen a temple with separate endowment rooms, with no mural.  The ceiling in the celestial room was cool, I was rounded, and painted with a diamond design.  The best way I can describe it is kind of looking like Epcot Center sphere.  Overall, I would give Boston am A.  It has a newer feel with beautiful woodwork, stained glass and interior decor.  It doesn't have the granite bathroom stalls that makes some Temples an A+, but it's close.

I was able to do 10 sealings, 5 initiatores, 30 baptisms & 1 endowment.
